KVLY-TV Mast, North Dakota, USA

At first glance this may not look like an exceptional place but in the middle of nowhere North Dakota is this antenna. This antenna, built in 1963 was the tallest, still standing, structure ever built at 2,063 feet until surpassed by the Bur Khalifa in 2008. Hardly anyone even knows of it’s existence and it is rarely visited. I myself live very close but have never seen it but I plan to one day. As for the average traveler you may not want to plan a trip around a TV mast but if it is close to where you’re going why not visit the tallest structure in the Western Hemisphere?
