Salar De Uyuni, Bolivia
The Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is the largest salt flat in the world. Once a huge salt lake, the lake has now dried up and left behind a huge salt deposit. One of the most amazing things about these salt flats is that during Bolivia’s rainy season the flats get covered with a thin layer of water and it becomes the largest natural mirror in the world, even visible from space! The first two photos are during the rainy season and the second two are from the dry season. There is also a hotel near the flats that is supposedly entirely made of salt! Some people claim it is the closest thing to heaven on earth.
