Great Blue Hole, Belize
This hole in the reefs of Belize has left me in awe ever since I found out about it. Not only is it stunning to see from the air, but it is said to be one of the best places to SCUBA diving in the world. Said to have been formed during the ice age when water levels were much shallower, it is know for not just its underwater life but also its stalactites. It is about 124 metres (409 feet) deep and 300 metres (984 feet) across. Tourism of the hole is common as many different types of sharks are usually visible near it. To me, the whole hole (pun intended) seems to be shrouded with mystery and also seems a little eerie. I would like to go one day and see exactly what is down there for myself!
