San Marino
San Marino is such a tiny country it is often forgotten…But it shouldn’t be! It only about 60 square km in size and is completely surrounded by Italy but is considered the oldest constitutional republic in the world as it was founded in 301 A.D. The city of San Marino is the main town and is a UNESCO site because of its historical significance as well as the fact that there are three castle towers built right on the edge of cliff with surrounded city walls. Talk about protection! Well these towers offer stunning views to tourists and provide information on the history of the country! Before we arrived in San Marino I knew virtually nothing about it. Needless to say, I left the place amazed. Like come on it looks like a fortress from a James Bond Movie!
